My Story
Hi everyone, I am funguypiano (fungi (• ◡•)|. I specialize in arranging K-pop, K-drama, Anime Songs and notating sheet music /piano sheet. I grew up in Hong Kong and I live in Toronto. I’ve played the piano for almost 10 years. I took 2-3 years of piano lesson and in fact, I dropped out of piano several times when I first started, mostly because classical music just didn’t interest me. The person who brought me back to piano is Animenz, an inspiring and professional youtube pianist/arranger. I was also influenced greatly by an elective class that I took in University, “Listening to Music”, which makes me realize the beauty of classical music. More importantly, I was heavily inspired by an anime, “Your Lie In April “. (,,•́.•̀,,)
Back in the day, I was the one who frequently browsed for sheets on the internet. It was really depressing because some of the songs that I really like do not have a music sheet (free or paid). ｡゜(｀Д´)゜｡I was extremely disappointed. So I had an idea, why don’t I just notate the sheet music myself? ƪ(˘⌣˘)ʃ That’s why I decided to create sheet music and share with everyone in the world through my YouTube channel. I want to spread my love, my emotions and my enthusiasm for music, as well as the songs that I like. I am so glad that there are actually someone who supported me and subscribed my channel. In 2017, I have gained over 100,000 subscribers, which is just amazing and unbelievable! Without all of your support, I wouldn’t have come this far and keep this channel alive for this long. I specialize in arranging K-pop, K-drama, Anime Songs. My arranging style is heavily inspired by Anime songs and classical pieces. I usually include a lot of advanced techniques into my arrangement so that I can improve as a pianist as well.

Who are you?
My name is Jeffrey (• ◡•)|. I have recently graduated from university and finished my degree in accounting. I am currently an options trader & a hobbyist pianist!

I am from Hong Kong and I live in Toronto.
What do you like?
I like playing songs from K-pop, K-drama and Anime, as well as instrumental sound tracks from video games. Asides from piano, I also like drawing and designing.XD
How long have you been playing the piano?
Over 10 years. 2-3 years of actual piano lessons and self-taught the rest of the way.
How much time do you spend on practising piano?
It depends. My practising time ranges from 0 to 7 hours everyday. But on average, it would be around 15-30 minutes per day.
Who do you admire as a youtube pianist ?
Animenz, marasy8, Theister and kylelandry. These are the people who also love to share music around the world. They are my favourite pianists on Youtube.
What is the opening song in most of your videos?
I actually composed the intro music myself, it’s just a quick 7-8 seconds piece. XD I might compose the rest later.
How long have you been arranging songs?
I first started arranging songs from K-pop, K-drama and Anime 3 years ago. However, I was pretty lazy the first two years and didn’t really put much time into it. Having said that, I spent a considerable amount of time the past year and actually improved a lot during 2016. I learnt a lot of new arrangement ideas from other YouTube pianists.
Do you have perfect pitch?
No, I don’t have perfect pitch but relative pitch does the work just fine!
How did you learn to arrange song?
I am completely self-taught in terms of arranging. I learnt mostly from other Youtube pianists, Youtube tutorials in order to understand basic music theory and gain new insights, as well as experimenting different patterns, techniques and chord progressions on my own.

Your digital piano is so beautiful, what model is it?
I am using Yamaha P-255 / P-515 White in my latest videos.
What editing/notation software do you use?
I use Adobe After Effect for video editing, Adobe Photoshop for graphic designing, Ableton Live as the DAW, Sibelius for notating sheet music, Audacity for minor editing and exporting MP3s,
What camera do you use?
I am using canon T5i to capture the video.
How do you record your audio?
Yamaha P-255 allows USB connection, so I record my performance (Audio or Midi) directly into a USB drive to ensure the highest sound quality. The VSTs that I am using are TruePiano / CFX Lite.

What is the different between the Easy and Hard version sheet music?
Draft/ Easy piano sheet only contains the lead line and the bass note. It’s the most basic and easiest form of sheet music that provided specifically for beginners, improvisers and arrangers. It also serves as a reference for you to improvise or develop your own version of music. Hard version is basically the version I played in the video, and not every cover will have a hard version. For those covers that come with a sheet music package [ Hard version sheet music / Midi / Mp3 ], will generally be available at a price of USD $2.50~$2.99.
What is inside a $2.99 Hard version package?
The package includes the Hard version music sheet (some also include the Easy / Draft version) in PDF format, the corresponding performance MIDI file and the audio in MP3 Format.
What is MIDI and how am I supposed to use it?
MIDI carries event messages & data that specify the instructions for music, including a note’s notation, pitch, velocity! It’s extremely useful and you can use it on a variety of software to assist with learning, arranging and composing. For example, Notation Software (Sibelius, Finale, MuseScore, Guitar Pro, etc), Digital Audio Workstation [DAW] (Ableton, Logic Pro X, FL Studio, Garage Band, etc), Virtual Sound Technology [VST], and Piano tutorial software like Synthesia. However, please note that sharing my MIDIs or using it for commercial purpose is strictly prohibited! (,,•́.•̀,,)
How to buy the hard version package / your arrangements?
In the menu, navigate the page for Hard Version Sheet, pick the arrangements your want and click ‘Add to Cart’. Next, go to the check out page and select your preferred payment method. The sheets will then be available on your account page for download upon successful payment.
What payment methods are accepted?
Currently Wechat Pay, Alipay, Paypal or credit card are accepted. For Paypal, you will need a paypal account. You can create a paypal account here: https://www.paypal.com/ You can also pay it with credit card through paypal if you don’t have a paypal account.
How will my order be sent?
You will receive an order confirmation email along with a download link ♡ The download link will also be available under the ‘Downloads’ Tab on your ‘My Account’ page upon successful payment. Please make sure you have entered a valid e-mail address. if you did not receive the download link within 12 hours, please contact me at [email protected] immediately! (〃￣ω￣〃ゞ The file will be downloaded as a ZIP, which means it’s compressed. You will then need to decompress the ZIP file before you can view / open all the files (PDF, MIDI, MP3) properly.
